[guessing lucky or asymptomatic]

not much hope for anything last year.

[past ten years i've had to vote to have a septuagenarian as President, twice. twice it's been the choice between two different grandparents. that isn't a job i'd recommend for the elderly. i'm not ageist. if you show up to work at seventy years old, i'll give some extra consideration. some jobs i just wouldn't ask of you.]

[500,000 extra dead per year (before their time) was enough to overwhelm our country's medical infrastructure. couldn't even manage to put the deceased to rest without using refrigerated trucks. that enough of a warning sign?]

when and maybe even why this country's government can't explain anything.

dishonest and holding a license to "practice"?

i started promoting my music on youtube in either 2012 or 2013. back then i was using a $500 computer i'd picked up at fry's electronics and a copy of reason 7. that laptop started failing (thnk it's the fan) so somewhat recently i picked up a $330 dollar computer from best buy (got fantastic sales experiences with both laptop purchases) and a novation mini from amazon (which comes with abelton live lite as a free download). i didn't really start to seriously promote my work over on youtube until about 2015. sometime in or about 2018 the hassle from g+ and youtube got to be a bit much, leading me to delete my work. a little while afterward i went ahead and restarted from scratch. my experience with google prior to using g+ (now defunct) and youtube doesn't compare. gmail has worked well for me. google search has changed often, but still works well enough for my needs. i can't say the same about youtube.

these two still retain 51% of alphabet's voting stock. they are ultimately responsible for everything their company, and its daughter company youtube, does. unfortunately youtube does not provide a level playing field for content providers. they, and the rest of the board members of both alphabet and youtube as well as anyone else involved with misrepresenting viewership numbers on their video streaming platform, are liable for their words and actions. i'm happy for their success in having founded google. however, i bumped into the legal consequences for their practice regarding viewership number adjustments while posting current events to attract an audience.

iu_450099_7201757.png

the penalties upon conviction for wire fraud are fairly severe.

iu_450105_7201757.png

so that's one or two counts?

iu_450128_7201757.png

pretty useful? i'll make the long story short. it's 5 years from the time you cease to be associated with or financially benefiting from any ongoing fraud not otherwise specified or 5 years from the time that most fraudulent acts end.

you not only haven't disassociated yourselves from booble financially, you're still in control of the boob-opolis.

iu_450113_7201757.png

just like i'd hoped to get a fair response from youtube, had hoped amuse would have been honest about my viewership and sales numbers. then again, maybe they are only as honest as the sites they submit to. i'll be submitting my tenth and final track for amuse to release before the end of 2021.

iu_450163_7201757.png

one day later, still no views credited. we saw that.

iu_451507_7201757.png

i generate more than that just building a list.

get real.

iu_451160_7201757.png

you know we saw that, right?

before you fail to admit to either keeping or not a second or multiple records of "views", a little light reading?

wouldn't a legitimate business have been in your interests from the start? i would have thought so too. however, here we are. funny how even a nsl never could have covered for fraud. at least with actual warrants there would have been chances for a court to put a stop to any funniness. little late to cry about it i guess.

i haven't bought or smoked cigarettes since may. i'd be happier if there weren't so many vague news reports about people dying from vaping. really pretty scary to hear about people getting hospitalized and even dying because of vaping. it's even scarier when the news doesn't explain why.

iu_53567_7201757.jpg

ars technica (black market lung disease): "Those sickened often suffer gradual breathing difficulties, coughing, fatigue, chest pain, and weight loss, which leads to hospitalization. Some have also experienced vomiting and diarrhea." the ars article also cites a post over at inverse which points out about vape cartridge packaging: "It is absurdly easy to get your hands on a Dank Vapes branded box or cartridge which you can then fill with whatever you’d like."

more recently, cbs news reported that vitamin e acetate might be very dangerous when vaped. while not contesting that, ars technica's beth mole posted: "Officials have still not identified a cause of the illnesses and investigations are ongoing."

vomiting and diarrhea make it sound more like food poisoning. i've looked online for the actual extent that enterotoxins are "heat-stable". i haven't yet found anything credible online justifying being concerned that vaping causes pulmonary food poisoning. it is likely that certain flavorings or additives shouldn't be in vape liquids.

whatever caused the recently reported pulmonary traumas, there aren't any quality standards for vape juice.

various companies might practice quality control. organizations might set guidelines. that's not the same as a recognizable and provided level of quality. i'm not necessarily sure the fda should be in charge either. i smoked when they allowed sodium silicate in cigarettes for fire safety.

"Public health experts have not found any evidence of infectious diseases and believe the lung illnesses are likely associated with a chemical exposure."

iu_56943_7201757.jpg

"While the cases have not yet been linked to a specific product or ingredient, health officials have urged consumers to quit vaping altogether."

iu_58173_7201757.jpg

[article linked above found via opera mini]

"Specifically, nicotine seems to impact the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain responsible for critical skills and functions like memory, reward processing and logic."

finally there's some news about the cause of the lung damage. the mayo clinic (according to the new york times) stated: "The lung damage in some people who have become ill after vaping nicotine or marijuana products resembles a chemical burn, doctors from the Mayo Clinic reported on Wednesday." yet "Medical investigators have been unable to identify exactly what is causing the lung damage, or even how many harmful substances are involved."

iu_62679_7201757.jpg

"When doctors took a closer look at Steffen's lung scans, the images weren't typical of a lifelong smoker. They looked more like a person with an extreme lung injury, like that of a chemical burn."

possibly...

iu_62683_7201757.jpg

"- major popcorn manufacturers removed diacetyl from their products, but some people are still being exposed to diacetyl - not through food flavorings as a worksite hazard, but through e-cigarette vapor."

weird that this wasn't newsworthy enough to accompany the first reports about vaping related lung damage leading to multiple deaths.

[ i've quit vaping. i'm not sure if this is what caused the lung damage in so many cases, but i am sure something did. ]

i'm still quits. there's another additive possibly causing potentially fatal lung injuries.

iu_68811_7201757.png

"There are many suspects, but the US Centers for Disease Control’s “very strong culprit of concern” is a new cutting agent found in illicit THC vaporizer cartridges across the nation. Tocopheryl-acetate, also known as vitamin E oil, surged in popularity on the street market ahead of the lung injury outbreak last summer."

found the above story via the comment below. thanks scuttle22.
